As I worked on this project I wanted to express how people see themselves while on the internet. The picture of the girl is seeing herself wearing a dress she has seen on the website she was on. The picture of the guy i wanted to be funny, just because. I have him looking at E-trade and then he is picturing himself being successful doing business. The final picture is myself looking at the computer. I try to get on to Mega Upload only to find that the FBI has shut it down due to "Pirating". Then I am wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, that became popular in the movie V for Vendetta. The mask became a symbol for revolution for the internet. Many groups use it when trying to stand up to the government. This subject is a little old but is still around and not many people know it. The fact that governments want to controll the internet that only place we can go for free speech, if they take that away what is stopping them from taking more of our freedoms away. There is a connection between this mask and the picture we were shown in class "the man on fire". Both took a very high levels of shock to get attention. For one the man on fire was a level of fear that he would rather burn to death and deliver a message. With the mask as there symbol, a group hacked the FBI website as a way of telling the government we will not sit back and let you take away our rights. After this happened more people became aware of an issue that effects most of them. Then it gained more movement and finally shut down the bill. Other bills are still around and people dont seem to notice them, they have the same effects but no one cares. Like the man on fire we need another shock to wake up. My photos are not done yet i want to edit the girl and the guy photos a little bit, i want to place the masks on them to show it effects everyone.
